Dr. Long

Meet Dr. Long

Dr. M. Jack Long is the Medical Director and, with his wife Donna, founder of The Vein Center, PLLC.  He originally comes from Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Of concern to most Razorback fans, Dr. Long obtained his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Science.  Please take note though; he promises to root for Arkansas at all times except head-to-head competition with the Aggies.

Dr. Long returned to The Land of Enchantment (New Mexico) to attend Medical school where he developed an interest in Radiology and specifically in Interventional Radiology.  Dr. Long visited UAMS in 1998 for an interview and was offered a place in their Radiology Residency program which he gladly accepted after graduation from medical school at the University of New Mexico.  He did well while in the residency program and served as Chief Resident during the 2002 and 2003 training years.  He continued to pursue additional training at UAMS as an Interventional Radiology Fellow and obtained Board certification from the American Board of Radiology as a Diagnostic Radiologist and a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Interventional Radiology.   He then joined private practice at Radiology Consultants, PA where he became a partner.

While at Radiology Consultants he became interested in venous abnormalities and vein treatment and was instrumental in the founding of The Vein Center within Radiology Consultants.  The Vein Center grew under Dr. Long's management in 2005, 2006 and 2007 until it required the majority of Dr. Long's professional time.  Dr. Long decided to transition his practice to treating solely venous disease in April of 2008 and The Vein Center, PLLC was incorporated in a location adjacent to Embassy Suites in Little Rock in July of 2008.

Dr. Long has lectured throughout Arkansas on venous disease and vein treatment and has published case studies in the Journal of the Arkansas Medical Society.  He has also pursued additional training and certification since finishing his formal residency training and is now a Registered Vascular Technologist as well as a Member of the American College of Phlebology.

He can be reached for questions at either his office (501) 225-8346 or
via Email at Info@TheVeinCenterAR.com.
